Legoland.....Final Log Entry

Day 4....weather was PERFECT....almost 80 degrees.....we left Legoland around 10:00 and went to Downtown Disney for some last minute shopping and lunch. We went to the Lego shop of all places....Justin had to go to Build-a-Bear and Cori went to the Disney shop. We left Downtown Disney around 2:00 and hit the road home. Traffic...traffic...traffic...all through LA. We hit the grapevine and never looked back. When we got to the 152 cut off, we said good bye to Jo-Ma and Kelsie and drove home. We hit some very nasty fog all the way home but the trip went smooth and we landed in our drive way around 9:30. It is 10:32 right now and the car is unpacked, the washing machine is washing and the kids are playing the PS3. My dog is happy that we are home and the fun memories of another adventure with our traveling buddies (Jo-Ma and Kelsie) at Legoland is fresh in our minds. Until the next adventure......Captain Big Daddy, signing off......

The view from our hotel room, a great day in San Diego.....

All is quiet in the car......for now........

From Jason to the special girl out there......

My nephew Jason is a special "friend" of somebody out there that I know looks at this blog. I thought I would pass this picture on to her. Jason wanted me to take a picture of him at Christmas. After several attempts, we finally got a good one.

Legoland......Day 3

Day 3 - weather was perfect! We got to Legoland at 9:00 to go to the new Sea Life Park. The family picture below was taken when we first got to the park...notice that there are NO cars in the parking lot?! Because we were the first ones there! That didn't last too long, the park was packed today but we were able to do everything the kids wanted to do. As soon as we got into the park, the older ones (Kelsey, Cori, Scott and Mitchell) went off on their own. We met for lunch and off they went!

Some pictures from the new Sea Life Park at Legoland.....

If I were a fish.......this fat fish found this anchor hole and parked his fat a$$ right into it. He balanced himself so he would not have to swim.....he just sat there and watched as all the people walked by.....he was the smartest "thing" in the entire park.....I envied him.....

Mitchell didn't believe me when I told him he snores like a howling banshee.....so of course I had to video tape some evidence for him to see.....and of course, all of you.....

Remember 1984?

It seems everytime I hear Michael Jackson's name in the news, it seems it's negative. Sure, he's weird...he sleeps in a bed with little kids....and his nose is melting off....but back in 1984, Michael was the "King" of pop. You may not want to admit it now, but when you watched Michael moon walk for the first time, you had chills. Even watching it now, brings back that feeling of seeing something great for the very first time. He's weird but he was the King....

Dispatch From Legoland....

Dispatch from Legoland.....

Weather 64 degrees but feels more chilly....blue skies and no clouds

Day 1:

Left Sacramento at 10:21 AM and drove...drove...drove...traffic all the way. Rendevous with Joanne at Kettleman City, grabbed some burgers and switched Cori for Mitchell Kitazumi. Cori was happy because she got to ride the rest of the way with her cousin Kelsey and Scott was happy because he got to ride with Mitchell. Daddy was pissed because there was bumper to bumper traffic all the way. We finally got into Carlsbad around 7:00 PM. We checked in and went to grab a bite. After so many hours on the road, what do you do? You stick spoons on various parts of your face....

Dispatch from Legoland Day 2:

We hit the park at 10:00 AM, renewed our annual membership and through a comedy of errors on the park employees, we actually walked away with 10 free tickets....3 of which we used for Mitchell, Joanne and Kelsey. We were only supposed to get 5 tickets but we got 10! Ask me later and I'll tell you the entire story....

There's Crazy and there's Cousin Jimmy.....

There's crazy and there's Cousin Jimmy.....

Nike has just come out with what they say are the last "Jordan" basketball shoes. They are called XXIII's and were only produced in a very limited number and distributed in only a select few stores. Of course my Cousin Jimmy just HAD to have a pair....so he camped out overnight....for 4 nights....in San Francisco....just to get a pair. The retail cost was $250.00 but they are currently selling on eBay for $4,000+. Is Jimmy going to sell them?!?! NOPE! He is going to keep them in his room and stare at them. It's good to be the King....

Christmas 2008

Christmas 2008 has come and gone....we had Christmas Eve at Jo-Ma and Jo-Jo's house (Chinese for Auntie Joanne and Uncle George). The kids had a great time with all their cousins. But before the fun began, we had to pick up a tree and deliver it to Grandma and Grandpa Kumamoto's house since we were having Christmas night there. Even though it was busy, it was a lot of fun and the kids had a great time opening up their gifts.

Basketball....and more basketball....

Basketball season is upon us! For the next 3 months, we will have NO free weekends...Cori plays basketball on Saturdays and Scott and Justin play on Sundays! Yikes!! Cori's team is now 2-0 as of this past weekend and Scott's team is now 1-1 with an overtime win on Sunday.
